Making GIFs from YouTube videos is a good way for filmmakers to steal ideas. Here’s how to do it:
Copy the web address of the YouTube video you want to extract a GIF from
Go to Giphy.com and choose “Create” from the menu at the top of the page.
Past in the web address of the video
Choose the duration and start time, then click “Continue to decorate”
On the next screen click “Continue to upload”
Click “Upload to Giphy”
Click “Share”
Click “Copy GIF Link”
Insert into Google Docs
You can then use this link to insert GIFs into Google Docs, such as your Ideas Bible. To do this in Google Docs, choose “Insert” from the File menu, then “Image” then “By URL”. Paste in the GIF link.
If that fails there are alternatives
If Giphy doesn’t work (sometimes the video is too long) you might have to download the video (try this or google “YouTube download”). You can then use Gifrocket (simple & easy) or if you want more options, GifBrewery on the mac.
